Mass & Confession

Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning to a familiar pew, we look forward to praying with you.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

— 1 John 1:9 (RSVCE)

THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

Confession is an opportunity to experience God’s mercy, receive forgiveness, and begin again with renewed peace. Whether you come regularly or it has been many years, you are welcome here. Preparing for Confession

Take a few quiet moments before you come to reflect on your relationship with God and with others. Ask for the grace to recognize your sins, express sincere sorrow, and take a step toward a more faithful life.

  1. Pause and reflect. Consider your thoughts, words, actions, and the times you have missed an opportunity to love or help someone.

  2. Speak honestly. Tell the priest how long it has been since your last confession and confess your sins. If you feel unsure or nervous, simply let him know.

  3. Listen and pray. The priest will offer guidance and a penance, and invite you to express your sorrow in an Act of Contrition. Ask for help with the prayer if you need it.

  4. Begin again. Receive absolution, give thanks for God’s forgiveness, and complete your penance as soon as you can.

If you are exploring the Catholic faith or have questions about receiving the sacrament, contact the parish rectory. We would be glad to help you take the next step.

Reconciliation is also available by appointment. Please call the parish rectory.
